Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for treating a patent foramen ovale, which is capable of restraining the septum primum (flap) from opening toward the left atrium of heart and preventing blood from flowing from the right atrium of heart to the left atrium of heart due to the patent foramen ovale practically without damaging a septum secundum or applying load thereto. SOLUTION: The resilient device 1 for treating the patent foramen ovale comprising: a main linear part 2 having a bend part 5 positioned at the center part, a right side linear part 2a positioned on the right side of the bend part and a left side linear part 2b positioned on the left side of the bend part 5; a right side linear extension part 3 extended in the inner side direction of the bend part 5 from the right side linear part 2a; and a left side linear extension part 4 extended in the inner side direction of the bend part 5 from the left side linear part 2b. The device can be mounted on the upper end part of the the septum primum 51 by the right side linear part 2a and the right side linear extension part 3 and the left side linear part 2b and the left side linear extension part 4, and by the repulsive force against torsion of the device 1 for treating the patent foramen ovale when it is mounted on the septum primum at the two parts, the deformation of the septum primum 51 in the direction of separating from the septum secundum 52 is restrained.
