Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ice making device capable of being miniaturized as a whole by reducing the height of the device while utilizing benefits of vertical type. SOLUTION: This ice making device comprises an outer cylinder 13 and an inner cylinder 2 and stood in the cylindrical shape with an approximately double cross-section, and an aqueous solution supplied from a lower portion of the inner cylinder 2 into the inner cylinder 2 is cooled by a refrigerant introduced between the outer cylinder 13 and the inner cylinder 2 from a lower portion of the outer cylinder 13, thus ice can be created on a surface of the inner cylinder 2. Further a separating means 5 is mounted to rotate the created ice around a central shaft 4 in the inner cylinder 2 and to separate the same to create slurry ice. A cross-sectional area of a refrigerant flow channel formed by an outer peripheral face of the inner cylinder 2 and an inner peripheral face of the outer cylinder 13 is large at its upper portion with respect to the lower portion where the refrigerant is introduced.
