Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance dehydration ratio of a cake by removing a moisture layer remaining on the surface of filter cloth during a pressing process. SOLUTION: This filter press apparatus 10 has a pressing mechanism with filter cloths 700 provided facing one another in a filtering chamber 300 between facing filter plates 100, and two or more passing ports 500 for leading pressed-out filtrate to the outside of the filtering chamber. To a first passing port 500A, a line 210 sending compressed air into the filtering chamber during the cake pressing process is connected, and the compressed air sent into the filter chamber is discharged from a second passing port 500C entraining filtrate attached to the filter cloth surface.
