Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide meter-reading radio equipment capable of improving the reliability of stored information without resetting information necessary at the time of radio communication even when exchanging batteries, and reducing an overlook of the result by a worker by early notifying the outside whether the information is normal or abnormal. SOLUTION: The battery-operated meter-reading radio equipment reads a meter by collecting data retained in the meter through radio communication with the meter. The meter-reading radio equipment includes a connector 14 having a exchangeable battery 13, nonvolatile information storages 9-11 for storing information necessary at the time of radio communication, an error detecting code storage 15 for storing an error detection code calculated in advance for the information stored in the information storage, a controller 6 for confirming an error detection code after being calculated for the information read out from the information storage when the battery is exchanged and an error detection code read out from the error detection code storage, and a notification section 12 for notifying the confirmation result confirmed in the controller.
