Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent suction of air bubbles by a strainer installed inside an oil pan of an automatic transmission, and also, to prevent interruption of lubrication for an operational mechanism body of the automatic transmission while inertia force is acted on a vehicle. SOLUTION: The oil pan is composed as follows. A suction port 3n, which sucks oil stored in the oil pan, is provided almost at a height position of the bottom face 2 of an oil pan case 1. A baffle plate 4 for covering nearly the whole surface of a liquid surface is floated on the oil liquid surface in a normal state. Gaps 6, 7 and a through-hole 5 are provided between the peripheral edge of the baffle plate 4 and the side walls 1F, 1B of the oil pan case 1. The oil pan is provided with a stopper 8 for regulating the upward movement of the baffle plate 4 and for closing the through-hole 5 during the regulation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
