Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device, performing favorable regeneration processing while preventing an excessive temperature rise of a filter without remarkable alteration of the conventional general constitution, and having high reliability. SOLUTION: A first filter for collecting particulate matter in exhaust emission is provided in an exhaust passage of an engine, and an oxidation catalytic converter is provided in the upstream of the exhaust passage in the first filter. The central part of the oxidation catalytic converter is constructed as a second filter decreased in diameter and length as compared with the first filter and serving as a particulate matter collecting function and an oxidation catalyst function.
