Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a softening agent not inhibiting a modifying effect of a modified diene-based rubber. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for tires comprises 100 pts.wt. rubber composed of 30-100 pts.wt. modified diene-based rubber containing at least one polar functional group selected from an amino group, a hydroxyl group, an epoxy group, a carboxy group and an alkoxysilyl group and/or at least one metal atom in the molecular chain or at the molecular terminals and 0-70 pts.wt. other diene-based rubber, and 5-100 pts.wt. petroleum-based softening agent in which value of %CA by ring analysis measured by n-d-M method is 15-70% and DMSO extract is 0-3 wt.%.
