Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide material powder for a solid electrolyte of a ceria system in which reduction resistance is improved and the deterioration of conductivity is suppressed and a solid electrolyte with little adverse influence to an electrode function can be manufactured at low cost, the solid electrolyte uses the ceria system material powder for the solid electrolyte, and to provide a solid oxide type fuel cell. SOLUTION: The material powder for the solid electrolyte is produced by combining a low electron conduction phase forming material on the surface of a powder particle of the ceria system electrolyte material by adding a mechanical force, while combining a low electron conduction phase forming material CaO in which a phase with low electron conductivity can be formed by reaction to the ceria system electrolyte material or by a solution to a ceria system electrolyte material CeO2powder, and the solid electrolyte is manufactured by sintering the material powder for the solid electrolyte.
