Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic heater excellent durability. SOLUTION: The ceramic heater 1 is build in a gas sensor for detecting the concentration of specific gas in exhaust gas. The ceramic heater 1 comprises: a heater substrate 2 made of ceramic; an external terminal 3 connected to a heater formed in the heater substrate 2 and provided on the outer surface of the heater substrate 2; and a lead wire 4 joined to the external terminal 3. The lead wire 4 is made of a clad material having both a core layer 41 and a coating layer 42 coating the outer surface of the core layer 41. The coating layer 42 is made of a metallic material corrosion-resistant to corrosive compositions in the exhaust gases. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
