Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair capable of being backward bent from a normal position according to a muscular power difference, a weight or the like of a user and easily returning to the normal position. SOLUTION: The chair is provided with a lower-half part 4s and an upper-half part 4u of the backrest, and a back-bending device D for backward bending the upper-half part 4u to the lower-half part 4s. The device D is interposed between lower-half part 4Xs of a back frame for supporting the lower-half part 4s and a back frame upper-half part 4Xu for supporting the upper-half part 4u and provided with a reaction force generating mechanism D1 for generating a reaction force for returning the upper-half part 4Xu backward bent to the normal position and a reaction force adjusting mechanism D2 for adjusting the reaction force that the reaction force generating mechanism D1 generates.
