Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a composition for controlling the proliferation of an encapsulated cell which combines various advantages of a proliferating cell and a differentiated nondividing cell. SOLUTION: In the method and composition, the distribution of a cell (namely, the number of cells in a BAO or the present position of cells, or both of them) is controlled, when a cell is encapsulated in BAO. (1) The method and composition is for modifying the cells encapsulated in the BAO and (2) the composition is for modifying proliferation surface in the BAO. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
