Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable hydrogen flame ionization-type gas detector for forming a hydrogen flame in a stable combustion state while rapidly and accurately grasping the combustion state of the hydrogen flame, and accordingly, stably performing anticipated gas detection. SOLUTION: In this hydrogen flame ionization-type gas detector of a portable type, hydrogen gas jetted out from a hydrogen flame nozzle is ignited to form a hydrogen flame in a combustion chamber, sample gas is brought into contact with the hydrogen flame to thermally decompose the sample gas, and an ion current thereby produced is detected by a collector electrode to detect the concentration of hydrocarbon gas. The gas detector is provided with a detection means for detecting and checking the combustion state of the hydrogen flame, and its detection part is disposed at a position between the flame nozzle and the collector electrode, and at a position preventing contact with the hydrogen flame.
