Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an performance evaluation method for sulfonic acid type cation exchange resin of a primary cooling water system desalination tower of a pressurized water type nuclear power plant for evaluating the oxidation degradation degree of sulfonic acid type cation exchange resin, by measuring the quantity of polystyrene sulfonic acid contained in the primary cooling water at the outlet of the desalination tower. SOLUTION: In the performance evaluation method for sulfonic acid type cation exchange resin charged in the primary cooling water system desalination tower of a pressurized water type nuclear power plant, for evaluating the performance of sulfonic acid type cation exchange resin, charged in the desalination tower of a chemical volume control system, where primary cooling water of the pressurized water type nuclear power plant flows, boric acid recovery system and a spent fuel pit system, a part of primary cooling water of the desalination tower outlet is introduced, in a sample hood provided in a sampling room, and then the quantity of polystyrene sulfonic acid contained in the primary cooling water is measured.
