Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an organic electroluminescent element which is high in light transmittance of an electron injection electrode, and also in light emitting efficiency in the organic electroluminescent element at which an electron injection layer containing Li or Cs is installed. SOLUTION: This is the organic electroluminescent element which is equipped with an organic layer including a light emitting layer between a hole injection electrode and the electron injection electrode, and constituted of a first metal thin film in which the electron injection electrode is installed on the electron injection layer, and which is composed of a metal capable of being alloyed with Li or Cs constituting the electron injection layer, and of a second metal thin film containing gold which is installed on the first metal thin film while the electron injection layer containing Li or Cs is installed between the organic layer and the electron injection electrode.
