Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding member of which sliding surface does not deteriorate for a long period of time not only under a condition where an engine is operated but also under a condition an automobile is not operated for a long period of time and the engine is not operated for a long period of time in environment touching fuel containing corrosive material such as sulfur and acid, and a method for manufacturing the sliding member easily at low cost. SOLUTION: This sliding member supports a shaft member transmitting rotation to a fuel feeding means of a fuel pump feeding fuel to a fuel supply device of an internal combustion engine. A cylindrical sintered sliding layer and a sintered metal layer are formed inside and outside respectively, the sintered sliding layer 10a is composed of C of 50 mass% or more and 90 mass% or less, and remaining solid lubricant and unavoidable impurity, and the sintered metal layer 10b is composed of Cu-Ni alloy.
