Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable in which a jacket can easily be torn up without damaging a core section. SOLUTION: An optical fiber cable 1 includes a core section 2, a jacket 8 and a fiber bundle 10. A plurality of notches 9, which are extended along an axis direction X of the core section 2, is provided on the inner peripheral surface side of the jacket 8. In order to take out coated optical fibers 6 from the optical fiber cable 1, first, a cut 11 is made on the outer peripheral surface of the jacket 8 by a tool such as a pair of nippers. Then, fingers are inserted into the cut 11 to pick up a torn portion 8c which is sandwiched between two notches 9 on the jacket 8, and the portion 8c is pulled along the outer side direction of the optical fiber cable 1. Then, the portion 8c is torn along the axis direction of the core section 2 from the cut 11 as a starting point. By tearing up the portion 8c, the core section 2 is exposed.
