PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide device and method for managing a field equipment performing access to data set in field equipment in a short time. SOLUTION: This device for managing field equipment is provided with a conversion information storing means 101 for preliminarily storing conversion information associating a parameter name with data set in field equipment 1 in the outside of the field equipment 1, a data specifying means 102 for specifying data as a target of access based on the conversion information stored in the conversion information storing means 101 in response to an access request based on the parameter name. Because the data as a target of access are specified based on the preliminarily stored conversion information in response to the access request based on the parameter name, it is not necessary to prepare the conversion information each time the access request is made, and also to communicate with the field equipment 1 for preparing the conversion information.
