Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems that a rubber produces a void in the action of a great tensile force on the rubber of an base-isolating rubber device, and ruptures when the rubber is greatly deformed, in the case where a conventional base-isolated layer using the base-isolating rubber device and a sliding bearing device is applied to a so-called slender building with an aspect ratio (towering ratio) of 5 or more. SOLUTION: In this base-isolated structure of the building 1, the base-isolated layer comprises the base-isolating rubber device 2, the elastic sliding bearing device 3, and a fluidic system damper gear (oil damper gear 4). A control mechanism 8 sets the fluidic system damper gear in a locked or unlocked state, makes the fluidic system damper gear operate, while having such a property as to gradually increase a damping force along with an increase in the response speed of the base-isolated layer, in the unlocked state, and makes the fluidic system damper gear operate, while having such a property as to gradually increase the damping force, in proportion to an increase in the response speed of the base-isolated layer after the damping force greater than in the unlocked state is generated when the response speed of the base-isolated layer is set at approximate 0, in the locked state.
