PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater with a sterilizing function capable of preventing excessive increase of silver ion concentration in a bathtub water even when an irregular state occurs in pouring hot water while getting a sterilizing function by silver ion on the bathtub water. SOLUTION: When the supply of hot water is started and a flow rate of supplied hot water is stabilized, the flow rate of supplied hot water at that time is detected, an output control value of an electric current value corresponding to the detected flow rate of supplied hot water is acquired (S3), the acquired output control value is output, and the electric current of the electric current value corresponding to the output control value is carried to an electrode to dissolve the silver ion by electrolyzation (S4). These processes are repeated until the hot water supply is finished (S5). The acquisition of output control value is determined from a table defining the corresponding relationship between the flow rate of supplied hot water and the output control value.
