Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a spiral membrane element permitting shortening of the manufacturing lead time, reduction of intermediate products and improvement of the utilization efficiency of materials. SOLUTION: The method is for manufacturing the spiral membrane element having a cylindrical wound body in which a separation membrane, a supply channel material and a penetration channel material are wound spirally around a porous core tube in a laminated state and has a membrane-forming process of forming the leaf-shaped separation membrane and a leaf-forming process of forming a separation membrane leaf by folding the separation membrane so as to sandwich the supply channel material.
