Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hard disk drive device which can suppress a rise in temperature inside the device without newly preparing a fan motor etc. in the hard disk drive device. SOLUTION: The hard disk drive device is provided with; a temperature sensing means 20 (temperature sensor) to detect temperature inside a main part of the device; and a control means 21 (hard disk controller) which controls rotation speed of a spindle motor 8 based on the temperature sensed by the temperature sensing means 20. The control means 21 performs control by rotating the spindle motor 8 with a 1st high-speed rotation speed (7,200 rpm) when the sensed temperature in the temperature sensing means 20 is under the specified temperature and changing the 1st rotation speed to a 2nd low-speed rotation speed (5,400 rpm) temporarily to rotate the spindle motor 8 when the sensed temperature exceeds the specified temperature. Consequently, a heat value from the spindle motor 8 is reduced by the rotation speed without additional components for temperature measures and the rise in the temperature inside the device is suppressed.
