PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin plate end face treating device capable of removing burrs on the end face of a resin plate without exerting an influence on its other parts, and a treating method. SOLUTION: The resin plate end face treating device 1 for giving melting treatment for the end faces 2b, 2c, 2d of an almost rectangular resin plate 2 is provided with positioning pins 5 for positioning the resin plate in a prescribed position and an infrared irradiation apparatus 18 for irradiating a prescribed part on end faces of the positioned resin plate with infrared rays to heat the end faces. The infrared irradiation apparatus 18 is equipped with an infrared lamp 20 for generating infrared rays and a heat-resistant cylindrical mirror 22 for condensing light emitted from the lamp onto a prescribed part on the end faces of the resin plate.
