Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical biometric apparatus capable of accurately deciding whether or not artifacts are included. SOLUTION: This apparatus comprises: an optical measurement part 10 for measuring an absorbance change amount by at least three different wavelengths λn (where n≥3) and acquiring a measured absorbance change amount ΔAm (λn); a concentration change amount and average optical path product computing part 22 for calculating the product [oxyHb] of an oxyhemoglobin concentration change amount and an average optical path length and the product [deoxyHb] of a deoxyhemoglobin concentration change amount and the average optical path length by the method for least squares on the basis of the measured absorbance change ΔAm (λn); a calculated absorbance change amount computing part 23 for calculating a calculated absorbance change amount ΔAc (λn) by calculation; a residual square sum/residual square sum rate computing part 24 for calculating a residual square sum D or a residual square sum rate E on the basis of the measured absorbance change amount ΔAm (λn) or the calculated absorbance change amount ΔAc (λn); and a decision part 25 for deciding whether or not the artifacts are included by comparing the residual square sum D or the residual square sum rate E with a reference value R.
