Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PWM control method of polyphase serial multiplexing power conversion apparatus, in which the voltage changes in line voltages quantized by the effect of dead time are controlled so that voltage changes of more than 2 levels are not be generated, in a PWM control provided with features for changing/selecting carrier phases of a polyphase serial multoplexing power converter. SOLUTION: The range and the level to be discriminated from command voltages are defined. In a CPS method, since a carrier signal that is shifted by 90 degrees, or an original carrier signal will be selected, such that the voltage changes of more than 2 levels will not occur; the level change of a gate signal from a gate signal status, before and after phase changeover of the carrier signal is discriminated; and the carrier signal to be subject to phase changeover at a table is determined. The phase changeover of the carrier signal is carried out, in such a manner that a carrier signal to be applied to each element arranged inside a diagonal line inside each unit inverter for each phase so as not to cause level changes to the gate signal, is selected, and a phase changeover is performed.
