Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp whose arc tubes are restrained from breaking and a compact self-ballasted fluorescent lamp. SOLUTION: Each bulb of the arc tubes of the fluorescent lamp which is even configured by connecting the plural arc tubes having thin bulb diameters and long bulb lengths, is restrained from deforming, or breaking due to a collision between adjacent bulbs, which might be caused by applying the bulb a force in a direction intersecting a straight portion of the bulb, even when the fluorescent lamp is installed or removed by grasping end portions of the arc tubes strongly, since a silicone resin 30 of natural curing type is placed among tip portions of the bulbs. Bulb damage which might be caused by thermal deformation of the silicone resin by thermal effect is also restrained because the thermal deformation of the silicone resin is comparatively small.
