Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric braking device of high reliability capable of positively returning a piston into a position where thrust does not remain, in a motor failure. SOLUTION: A caliper body 7 is provided with a stopper 39 for regulating the normal rotation exceeding a predetermined angle of a linear motion member 34 in a ball ramp mechanism 12, and a pad wear follow-up mechanism 14 comprises an adjuster 50 screwed with a piston 10, and a one-way clutch 51 for allowing the adjuster 50 to follow the normal rotation of the linear motion member 34 but to slip from the reverse rotation of the linear motion member 34. A coil spring 15 storing torque according to the rotation of a turning member 32 in a piston advancing direction is interposed between the turning member 32 and the linear motion member 34 in the ball ramp mechanism 12. In the failure of a motor 11, the turning member 32 is returned into an initial position by the torque of the coil spring 15, and the piston 10 is returned into an initial position completely separated from a brake pad, by the energizing force of a return spring 35.
