Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overhead traveling vehicle capable of lowering the height to a bottom surface of an article held from a ceiling, shortening the length of a gripping member, and safely and certainly carrying the article. SOLUTION: A lifting element 2 is provided with a gripping member 3 gripping an article 8, and a gripping mechanism driving the gripping member 3, and formed with an opening portion 9 which the article 8 penetrates. A guide pin 4 is provided on a bottom surface of a main body 1, and a guide pin boss 5 fitted with the guide pin 4 is provided on an upper surface of the lifting element 2.
