Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the conflicting characteristics of real-time properties and reliability in the light of the problem of real-time properties since transmission time is long and procedures for transmission require much time in a system using a GP-IB/Ethernet conversion adaptor. SOLUTION: An instrumentation module 3 having a GP-IB interface 21 inside is connected to a detector unit 1. A gateway device 20 for converting a GP-IB protocol to an Ethernet protocol is provided between host computers 6 connected to an Ethernet bus 18. Commands and data are transmitted and received between the computers 6 and the instrumentation module 3, and the gateway device 20 is allowed to function as the master of the GP-IB of each instrumentation module 3.
