Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly and easily change control desired values when image density is adjusted in an image forming apparatus which controls image formation factors, based upon measurement results of a plurality of sensors and a plurality of control desired values. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises the plurality of sensors 4, 7, and 15 which measure a plurality of different parameters for controlling image density; a memory 30 which stores the plurality of control desired values 31, 32, and 33 corresponding to the plurality of different parameters; image forming means 24 and 26 which control image formation factors affecting the image density based upon the plurality of measurement results and the plurality of control desired values; and a density adjustment control part 22 which receives an adjustment indication for image density and performs density adjustment processing. The density adjustment control part 22 selects a control desired value to be changed out of the plurality of control desired values, determines a change quantity for the selected control desired value, and updates the storage contents of the memory according to the determination.
