Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a port allocation apparatus capable of automatically dispersing a transmitting/receiving load among a plurality of storage ports. SOLUTION: The port allocation apparatus for allocating a plurality of ports formed in a storage apparatus for logically managing data from an external apparatus connected to a network in a plurality of memory devices to a plurality of targets for processing an initiator command received from the external apparatus to respective targets is provided with a load information storing part for storing load information indicating the load of each port allocated to each target and a processing part for changing the allocation of ports to respective targets so that the loads of respective ports are dispersed on the basis of the load information stored in the load information storing part.
