Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heighten the engine efficiency by reducing the parasitic power of an engine for driving a cooling fan. SOLUTION: This intermittent cooling fan control device includes: a microprocessor 40; a memory 95 electrically connected to the microprocessor 40; and an engine cooling fan 55 sucking air through a radiator 45, wherein the engine cooling fan 55 is electrically connected to the microprocessor 40. Engine brakes 90a, 90b, 90c are connected to an engine combustion cylinder, which is electrically connected to the microprocessor 40. A refrigerant temperature sensor 80 is fitted to the radiator 45, which is electrically connected to the microprocessor. An intake manifold 65 is provided with an intake manifold pressure sensor 70, which is electrically connected to the microprocessor 40. The microprocessor 40 causes engagement of the engine cooling fan 55 taking the inputs from the refrigerant temperature sensor 80, the intake manifold pressure sensor 70 and the engine speed sensor 85 as a function, and taking the output to the engine brakes 90a, b, c as a function.
