Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide glass, in particular colored glass and filter glass, which is suitable for use in precision molding, high in content of phosphate, and further lead-free. SOLUTION: The lead-free and phosphate-containing glass, preferably as colored glass and filter glass, which absorbs light in the infrared region (IR-region), is used in precision molding. The content of fluorine in the glass is preferably low. For example, optical components such as a lens for a digital camera are advantageously manufactured without finishing. Other optical components that are directly used for corresponding technical purposes are manufactured by employing the method of the invention. Optical components manufactured by precision molding are advantageously used in the fields of imaging, projection, telecommunications, optical communication engineering, and laser technology.
