PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a granulating method for easily producing granule with a desired particle size even if the property of a material to be treated varies. SOLUTION: A granulating machine comprises a horizontal granulation vessel for charging a granulating object and water, agitator blades, and chopper blades. The time T1 for premixing the granulating object by driving the agitator blades and chopper blades, and power consumption (Max) of the agitator blades or chopper blades at a plastic critical point are stored in a control device. The object to be treated is collectively charged into the granulation vessel, the agitator blades and chopper blades are rotated to premix for the above stored time. After premixing, 60-90% of total presumed water amount to be used is charged, then auxiliary water is added little by little until the stored power value reaches the plastic critical point of the chopper blades or agitator blades, to form nuclei.
