Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface polishing device using a motor-driven rotating brush and easily cleaning and polishing a downward surface to be polished retained at a predetermined height in an upward attitude with an upper wheel cabin horizontal joint flange surface of a gas turbine or a steam turbine temporarily placed on a floor face. SOLUTION: This surface polishing device can upward clean and polish the surface by rotating a rotating brush 5 interlocked with a driving motor, inserting the device between the downward face to be polished and the floor face and upward pushing against the surface to be polished. This device is provided with a press-fitting means having a stroke mechanism and retains the height position of the rotating brush 5 from the floor face at a predetermined height. Simultaneously thereto, this device can make a force of the rotating brush 5 upward pushing against the surface to be cleaned to a predetermined value, and an inclination adjusting mechanism allows a part, where the driving motor and the rotating brush 5 are integrated together, to freely incline following the inclination of the surface to be cleaned and a step of the surface and uniformly push the rotating brush against the surface to be polished.
