Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a high recording density by lowering slider floating with a simple constitution in a magnetic disk device. SOLUTION: This magnetic disk device 100 is provided with a magnetic disk 5 having a track 30 for recording data, a magnetic head slider 1 having a magnetic head mounted to float on the rotated magnetic disk 5 to record/reproduce data in/from the magnetic disk 5, and a controller 110 for controlling the operation of the device. In the magnetic disk 5, the data of a slider floating amount fluctuating in the track 30 is recorded beforehand in the track 30. The controller 110 controls the operation of the magnetic head slider 1 with respect to the magnetic disk 5 based on the slider floating amount data recorded in the track 30.
