PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize both an improvement in design of a sound insulating wall, reduction in cost and facilitation of construction and maintenance, without reducing sound absorbing performance of the sound insulating wall arranged on a superhighway. SOLUTION: This sound insulating wall 1 is composed of an H shape steel column 2 arranged at a specific interval, a front face plate 3 and a back face plate 4 arranged between the adjacent columns 2 and 2 and having sound absorbing performance, and a fixture 5 for individually fixing the front face plate 3 and the back face plate 4 to the column 2. The front face plate 3 and the back face plate 4 are detachably fixed to the column 2 by the fixture 5. A front face of the column 2 is hidden by a part of the front face plate 3, and a back face of the column 2 is hidden by a part of the back face plate 4, respectively.
