Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate to wind coils around a stator core so that a coil edge is accommodated in a slot in a stator for a rotary electric machine, in which the coil edge of the coil made by forming a square conductor, is accommodated in the slot formed in between a plurality of teeth, which the stator core has in its inner periphery. SOLUTION: Each latching projection 11c, which is projected to one side in a peripheral direction, is provided integrally at the top end of each tooth 11b so that the clearance which allows the coil edge 16 to be inserted in the slot 13 is provided at a space to the adjacent tooth 11b on one side in the peripheral direction. A positioning member 20A, which is interposed between the innermost portion along the radial direction of at least the stator core 11 among the coil edges 16 accommodated in the slot 13 and the adjacent tooth 11b and which sets the coil edge 16 at a position so as to be engaged with the latching projection 11c is fitted and fixed in each slot 13 from the radial inner side of the stator core 11.
