Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor made more inexpensive than a conventional gas sensor. SOLUTION: The gas sensor 100 has a sensor element 200. The sensor element 200 has a porous electrode part 221 having oxidation resistance and a porous structure, a sensor electrode extraction part 256 partially exposed outside of the sensor element and the sensor lead part 223 connected to the porous electrode part 221 electrically at its one end and electrically connected to the sensor electrode extraction part 256 at the other end. A part of the sensor lead part 223 mainly consists of a base metal, and a base metal part 223q airtightly embedded in the sensor element. Further, out of the sensor lead part 223 or the like, a part on the side of the porous electrode part 221 from the base metal part 223q is a first oxidation-resistant dense part 223r having oxidation resistance and gas impermeability.
