Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washstand which dispenses with the frequent checking of the quantity of water accumulated on a shower hose cover. SOLUTION: This washstand 1 comprises a counter 22 which is installed and fixed on a top surface, a washbowl 23, a shower head 5, and a hot-water and cold-water tap 24; the shower head 5 and the tap 24 are connected together via the shower hose 52; and the shower hose cover 54 for housing at least a folded-back part 55 of the shower hose 52 is provided. A detection pipe 6, which has a float rod 61 and which is connected below a side surface of the cover 54, is provided. The float rod 61 moves up and down inside the detection pipe 6 depending on the quantity of water in the cover 54, and an upper part of the float rod 61 can be recognized from the top surface of the counter 22 when the quantity of the water 7 in the cover 54 reaches a predetermined quantity or above.
