Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability in a memory card by drastically reducing the drain disturbance. SOLUTION: When a readout request is placed from a host device, management information is read out from the block having the corresponding address, and overwrite number of times information is counted up. The overwrite string flag of a management part and the overwrite number of times information are then referred to, and the search for the block having the minimum overwrite number of times in the many times overwritten string and the block having the maximum overwrite number of times in the few times overwritten string is performed. It is checked whether the addresses of these two blocks agree with those of the two blocks whose addresses are overwritten the last time. If they do not agree, the overwrite number of times of these searched two blocks are compared. If the overwrite number of times of the block having the minimum overwrite number of times is fewer than that of the block having the maximum overwrite number of times, the address conversion is executed by permuting the data of two blocks, and the addresses of these blocks are stored in the address management part.
