Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam generator that can heat liquid with a single heating medium, can produce a stable amount of steam and can reduce rush current to the heating medium. SOLUTION: The steam generator comprises a steam boiler for storing liquid and heating the liquid to generate steam, and a heat transfer tube for leading out the steam generated in the steam boiler. The steam boiler is made of metal in part or in whole, and a coil is positioned about the steam boiler. One or more temperature sensors measure the temperature of either or both of the steam boiler and the heat transfer tube, a power circuit supplies alternating current to the coil, and a control circuit controls the output of the power circuit. Under the output control of the power circuit by the control circuit based on the information from the temperature sensors, the supply of alternating current to the coil generates an alternating magnetic field in the coil and the alternating magnetic field generates eddy current in the metal part of the steam boiler, so that Joule heat generated by the eddy current and the electric resistance of the metal part heats the liquid in the steam boiler as the amount of steam generated from the liquid is controlled.
