PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve close contact performance between an article body part and the skin in a forward part and a backward part. SOLUTION: An absorbent article 1 is equipped with the sheet shaped article body part 2 and a pair of side wall parts 3 provided on both sides of the article body part 2. The article body part 2 is equipped with both a forward part 21 and a backward part 23 making contact with the skin of both ventral and dorsal sides of a wearer and an absorbent part 22 between the forward part 21 and the backward part 23. The side wall part 3 is equipped with a three-dimensional gathering part 32 provided on the side of the absorbent part 22 and a folded part 31 continuing from the three-dimensional gathering part 32. In the absorbent article 1, a width W1 of the side wall part 3 from a side edge 24 to an edge 312 at the side wall part 3 in both end parts of the article body part 2 is shorter than a width W2 of the side wall part 3 at the side of the absorbent part 22. Consequently, the close contact performance between the article body part 2 and the skin is improved in the forward part 21 and the backward part 23 by making a height of the side wall part 3 in the forward part 21 and the backward part 23 lower than that of the three-dimensional gathering part 32.
