Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably retain an auxiliary absorbent device attached to an article body part. SOLUTION: An absorbent article is equipped with the sheet shaped article body part 2 and a pair of side wall parts 3 provided on both sides of the article body part 2. The article body part 2 is equipped with both a forward part and a backward part 23 making contact with the skin on both ventral and dorsal sides of a wearer and an absorbent part between the forward part and the backward part 23. The side wall part 3 is equipped with a three-dimensional gathering part provided on the side of the absorbent part and a folded part 31 continuing from the three-dimensional gathering part. At the folded part 31 of the absorbent article, the side wall part 3 is folded to the upper surface side (the wearer's side) at a folding position 311 laterally separated from a side edge 24 of the article body part 2 and is fixed at the front edge part and the back edge part of the article body part. Consequently, the lateral movements of the auxiliary absorbent device attached to the article body part 2 is controlled by the pair of side wall parts 3, and the auxiliary absorbent device is reliably retained by preventing the auxiliary absorbent device from rolling up and shifting when the absorbent article is worn.
