Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize safety charging capable of utilizing the capacity of a secondary battery to the maximum, by performing optimal charge stop control, respectively, for a plurality of types of secondary batteries having different performances. SOLUTION: A charger 1 is connected with an information device 3, e.g. a personal computer, via a lighting line 5. The charger 1 delivers an acquisition request to the information device 3 along with its identification information. In response to the acquisition request, the information device 3 transmits new charge control data, corresponding to the identification information to the charger 1 via the lighting line 5. The charger 1 updates the charge control data stored in an EEPROM 17 to the new charge control data thus transmitted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
