Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wooden guard rail excellent in strength efficiency and quality and largely improving energy absorbency in the case of a vehicle collision. SOLUTION: The wooden guard rail comprises a plurality of struts erected at predetermined intervals and wooden beams 1 lying across between the adjoining struts to connect mounting members and a monolithic plate by bolt connection, each beam 1 is formed by overlapping a fiber direction veneer 10 placing a fiber direction in the length direction L of the beam, a bamboo compound veneer 12 and a veneer 11 at right angles to the fiber placing the fiber direction in the direction at right angles to the length direction L of the beam in a laminated state, the fiber direction veneer 10 and the bamboo compound veneer 12 are arranged on the front layer 1A and the back layer 1C, and a plurality of veneer 11 at right angles to the fiber are arranged to the inside layer 1B so as to hold the veneer 11 at right angles to the fiber between a plurality of fiber direction veneer 10.
