Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rapid/ready method for identifying main kinds recently circulated in large amounts in a hop market by carrying out a PCR of a genome DNA extracted from the hop using a primer to amplify a microsatellite region by which the kind of the hop can be identified. SOLUTION: The method for judging the kind of the hop comprises carrying out the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) of the DNA of the hop which is a specimen by using the kind-identifying primer designed so that the microsatellite DNA containing polymorphism on base sequences among kinds may be amplified to amplify the microsatellite DNA, and analyzing the amplified DNA fragments.
