Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the operation of a cushion pad with high accuracy by performing the feedback control of the cushion pressure in a closed loop. SOLUTION: The pressure generated in a cushion pad is measured, and the measured pressure value is outputted to a pad control unit. When the pressure value is generated in the cushion pad, the measured pressure value becomes not less than the predetermined value. In this situation, the pad control unit determines that a slide is lowered and an upper die is brought into contact with a work. When the pressure of the cushion pad is eliminated, the measured pressure value becomes not more than the predetermined value. In this situation, the pad control unit determines that the slide is direction-changed from the bottom dead center to the elevating operation. The pressure pattern of the cushion pressure is set in the pad control unit in advance. During the time when the pressure is generated and the time when the pressure is eliminated, the pad control unit compares the measured pressure value with the preset pressure pattern, and a servo motor is controlled so that the pressure value follows the pressure pattern.
