Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system displaying true phases of the moon for clocks during lunation, in particularly. SOLUTION: A movable indicator (8), placed on backside of the aperture face of a dial plate, is used to display continuous phases of the moon over the aperture face, by expressing borderlines (31-40) of various geometries between light regions (21-25) and dark regions (26-30) in the aperture during a display cycles of a lunation. A driving means forces the movable indicator (8) to primary migration. Each primary migration is of some degree of magnitude which can replace one borderline by another borderline within the aperture face. Lesser secondary migrations form finer movements of borderlines within the aperture face. Therefore, newer approximate geometries of true phases of the moon can appear within the aperture face each day. The displaying can be realized by the limited number of light and dark regions and the broader aperture face, compared to the dial plate. The method and system is applicable also both to the electric and mechanical driving modes. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
