Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil ring for an internal combustion engine in which areas for oil through-holes are ensured without impairing the strength of the oil ring. SOLUTION: In the oil ring for an internal combustion engine, oil through-holes are formed. Each hole has two arc parts placed so as to face to each other in the circumferential direction at both ends, two parallel straight lines placed to have a breadthwise distance broader than the width of the arc part, and oblique parts connecting the arc parts and the parallel straight lines. If the height of the oil ring body is taken as h1, the distance between the two parallel straight lines of the oil through-hole is taken as h2, radius of curvature of each arc part is taken as R, and the central angle of each arc part is taken as θ, R/h1=0.05-0.20, θ=90-160°, 2R<h2, and h2/h1=0.15-0.6 are established.
