Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a plant body of which ratio of the length of leaf blade in a side directional axial direction to that in a base part to tip end part axial direction is changed. SOLUTION: This modified plant body so that the ratio of the length of the leaf blade in the side directional axial direction to that in the base part to tip end part axial direction becomes larger is provided by introducing a chimera gene of a gene encoding a transcription factor associated with the regulation of extending growth of the leaf body in the base part to tip end part axial direction with a polynucleotide encoding a functional peptide for converting an optional transcription factor to a transcription inhibitory factor into plant cells to produce a chimera protein obtained by fusing the transcription factor with the peptide in the plant cells. By excessively expressing the gene encoding the transcription factor in the plant body, the modified plant body of which the ratio of the length of the leaf blade in the side directional axial direction to that in the base part to tip end part axial direction becomes smaller, is produced.
